Building the future

Windesheim is a broad-based university of applied sciences founded 40 years ago in Zwolle. Its aim is to learn, develop and innovate together with practice-oriented education and research. Since 2010, the school has also offered courses in Almere. By now, it is impossible to imagine the city without Windesheim. Windesheim is also building for the future. In the middle of Almere's city centre, a new educational building is being constructed that will contribute to developing, attracting and retaining talent. The new building will be an inspiring meeting place where everyone feels welcome and talent can grow. The modern building meets high standards in the field of sustainability, technology, safety and liveability. The building is part of Almere Campus. DUWO will also build 1250 student houses on the site.

This happens through internships, co-makerships, practical assignments and the hounour program, among other things. Windesheim also trains tomorrow's entrepreneurs: students can obtain an Associate degree in Entrepreneurship in two years. With tailor-made training programmes, Windesheim supports organisations that want to implement lifelong development and take the next step with their employees and their organisation.

Research in the region

Together with companies, educational institutions and government bodies, the Windesheim Knowledge Centre works on social issues in the region. Together with its surroundings, the university wants to accelerate transitions in society. In doing so, the university takes inspiration from the United Nations' sustainability goals: the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this way, Windesheim staff and students actively contribute to a sustainable society.
