Aeres University of Applied Sciences trains young people to guide green transitions and contribute to a healthy, sustainable future. The Aeres school has three branches: Wageningen, Dronten and Almere. The Almere branch particularly focuses on the themes Food, Nature & Urban Green. Since 2021, Aeres University of Applied Sciences has been located in a new building on the former Floriade site. The new building has been nicknamed Green Lung, and is a real eye-catcher. It fits in perfectly with Aeres' vision: it couldn't be any greener!

Contemporary, innovative study program

As part of the Aeres Group, a green knowledge institution dedicated to education, research and commercial activities, Aeres Hogeschool Almere is firmly rooted in society. How do we keep dry feet as sea levels rise? How do we create an urban living environment that challenges us to live and eat healthily? With new, innovative studies such as Earth & Climate, Geo Media & Design or Food Systems Innovation, Aeres University of Applied Sciences Almere trains young professionals to deal with practical questions like these. In doing so, the school works closely with the Almere business community.

Fruitful collaborations

Aeres Hogeschool Almere regularly carries out research commissioned by - and in cooperation with - governments, companies, institutions or NGOs. They are happy to share their results with clients, teachers, fellow students and other interested parties. For example, every six months, students of Applied Biology organise a symposium around the ecological research they do for various clients (including nature associations, lectorates, government institutions and consultancies). By providing more cross-pollination just like nature, they work together to grow knowledge about sustainability and biodiversity. More green, in other words!
