Perfect location, always easily accessible
Its location on the A6 and A27 makes it easily accessible by car, and there are direct train connections to Amsterdam, Schiphol, The Hague, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Zwolle and Groningen. Then there is the regional bus, an efficient system that connects Almere to 't Gooi and the northern Veluwe. And from nearby Schiphol Airport, you have access to the whole world.
Plenty of plans to expand connection with Amsterdam
By train from Almere Centrum, you can be in the heart of Amsterdam in half an hour. A further improvement of the rail connection with Amsterdam and Schiphol is on the agenda for the future, with more trains per hour. This is part of the OV-SAAL project. In the long term, the ambition is to realise a metro connection between Almere and Amsterdam with the IJmeer connection, connecting to the Amsterdam metro network.

Almere is part of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area (MRA) and is the second largest city in the MRA after Amsterdam. The MRA's facilities include two airports, seaports, the financial centre of the Netherlands and the internet hub AMSIX. The MRA is among Europe's top five economically strong regions. Priority is given to boosting the economy, improving accessibility and building housing. Economically, the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area aims to be a pioneer in the knowledge and circular economy. Sustainability is also high on the action list. The same goes for strengthening the landscape elements, with a focus on expanding both recreational opportunities and nature experiences. Business park Stichtsekant is part of the Logistic Hotspot Almere-Lelystad-Zeewolde, which was recently voted 1st Logistic Hotspot of the MRA.
