For entrepreneurs in Almere and Flevoland who are considering business succession within a family business, the ‘Succession in the Family Business’ course offers practical guidance to help them prepare effectively for the transition. A new edition of this practical course for (prospective) successors will start on 7 October 2026.
From being a team player to taking on a leadership role
The handover of a family business requires more than just a smooth transfer of ownership and management. Family dynamics, expectations and business decisions also play a significant role. During the course, participants gain insight into all aspects of business succession. Topics such as leadership, communication, governance and the financial, tax and legal aspects of the handover are covered in detail. Attention is also paid to innovation, digitalisation and the balance between family relationships and business responsibilities.
The course consists of four interactive sessions in which participants work on their own practical issues. The first session will take place on Wednesday 7 October at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences. The remaining three sessions will be scheduled in consultation with the participants. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and will have a concrete action plan for the future of their family business.
Grant for entrepreneurs in Flevoland
The participation fee is €3,500 excluding VAT per participant. Family businesses from Flevoland and the Zwolle region can apply for a grant prior to the start of the course, which will cover 50 per cent of the costs.
