In the construction industry, a lot of knowledge is lost in the transfer of information. Making smarter use of IT can largely prevent failure costs. According to CollaborAll, this does not mean that companies necessarily have to standardise or change first. 'We think everyone should be able to keep their own working methods and IT systems and still work together digitally effectively.'

Failure costs in construction are largely due to miscommunication, argues Peter Kleinjan, owner and founder of CollaborAll. 'In the decades that we have been applying IT in design and construction processes, we have experienced that the design and realisation of buildings, roads, bridges and viaducts involves many different parties, all using their own IT systems. As a result, a lot of knowledge is lost in the transfer of information.' Waste, they call it at CollaborAll. 'It could be so much more efficient if you exchange information 'Lean' via one integrated system, which meets all parties' information needs'.

And that is exactly what CollaborAll does. Peter: 'We streamline and optimise processes, by making smarter use of IT. For example, we connect 2D drawings with 3D BIM Models in time (4D), linked to costs (5D) allowing us to mix the real situation with the planned situation (Mixed Reality). This can prevent, for example, the bridge of party A not connecting to the land of party B.

Also, 4D planning can prevent a truck from having to cross a road where a crane is currently in the way. To this end, we integrate systems with each other. This allows each party to keep their own systems, yet work together effectively. All information is available in one place and the information is continuously validated and enriched during the design and construction process. All parties have the same source of information and build a Digital Twin without extra effort.

" We believe in the power of cooperation "
