Circular entrepreneurs wanted!
The municipality of Almere and IKEA Netherlands are working together to give more products a second life. Since 11 November, Almere residents can hand in their IKEA furniture at the recycling platform in Almere Buiten. IKEA collects this furniture for their 'second chance corners' in the branches in Amsterdam and Amersfoort. At the recycling platform in Almere Buiten, Almere residents can already hand in reusable items so that they get a new purpose. The project with IKEA will run for three months. If successful, we will extend this approach to the platforms in Almere Haven and Poort.
The Municipality of Almere is looking for companies interested in working together. Companies that want to reuse materials to extend their lifespan can sign up as a partner. You can read more about the trial and sign up here: Almere and Ikea work together against throwaway culture | Almere
Alderman for circular resources Jesse Luijendijk: "Our shared ambition is to reuse materials and reduce waste. The more residents and entrepreneurs participate, the bigger the difference we make together. I am therefore pleased with this collaboration."
